Pressed another beautiful set today. This is another copy of my 180 cm 136/102/123 model. But to say it’s a copy is misleading every pair is unique in their own way and this one is no different. With some very cool round inlays and figured maple….sometimes less is more. These will be right in the 4.5lbs per ski range after the base grind and final trimming. This pair is a birthday gift for a lucky guy who’s friends chipped in on this set of skis for him. After some discussion we settled on 180cm 136/102/123 with a medium flex. The weight will be right around 4.25lbs after the base grind and tune are complete. The graphic commemorates the eclipse we experienced earlier this spring. I have to say this pair came out beautifully. It’s been a minute since I’ve posted not that I haven’t been busy.. sorry bout that. I finally got back in the shop today to press a set with their new owner @bryansalatino When we were discussing his skis we decided on an all mountain ripper. We came up with a 185 cm 130/91/121 ski with a 25 cm tip rocker, 5 mm of camber and a slight tail flare. The radius is 16.3 meters. We discussed that weight wasn’t a factor in this ski and in fact a slightly beefier profile might be just the thing for this set and his skiing style. Today we nailed it. This ski weighs in at 4.75oz per ski, on the beefy side but not a tank either. We used a mix of 19oz glass backed up with some Z carbon as well as some 24k carbon on the base side and 12 k carbon stringers on an oblique axis to beef up the torsional component. A little look at some edge work today. This process takes time to be sure the base, edge and core blank all align perfectly. It’s one of the more finicky steps in the process but so rewarding when it all comes together! The keen eye will notice the blue primer on the edges. It used to be matte light grey. The supplier (CDW in Ohio) switched to a polyurethane based primer that improves corrosion resistance and still gives the same or better adhesion. #whiteroomskis #skiedge #handmadeskis #madeinvermont #vermontmade

First pair of 2024 is done and they came out beautifully! This set is 180 cm 138/108/120mm with a 30 cm rocker tip, 4 mm of camber a short tail rocker with a medium flex. The weight 4lbs 11 oz, not bad for a ski that big. I used a combination of fiberglass with some carbon fiber composites for this ski.
